The Children Have Moved

So, as of 6:00 this evening, all 55 of our children from our Toddler House (also known as Kay B) were at their new home. And wow, were they ever excited. For those of you reading this who are familiar with WhiteDog Sunday School trips, you know what packed vehicles are all about. When we first arrived at the toddler house with our 3 vehicles, Molly figured we would need to make a couple of trips to get all the children moved. Well I, thinking about how many children we could pack into the vans when we loaded up children in WhiteDog, was being very optimistic, and said that I thought we could take them all with 1 trip. And, sure enough, it worked. We couldn't get all the nannies and Bubba the dog in on this first run, so Molly did go back to get them all. But, all the children did manage to fit in the 3 vehicles. Ya ... no seatbelts and carseats in Haiti! I had to chuckle as we were driving as a few of the older children kept asking if "that" was the new orphanage with almost every house we passed! They could not wait to get there! When we got near the new place, we did a countdown (3 ... 2 ... 1) and when we got to 1, they children could see the place! They all started cheering!

Because it was after supper time for most of the children (they ate in shifts at the old toddler house because there was not room for everyone to eat at one time), we immediately had all the children go into the house for supper. Once the children were finished eating, the children excitedly went outside to explore the new yard to play in. They were ALL smiles, that's for sure.
It was another tiring day, but watching the children's excitement, and knowing how great the new place will be has made it all worth it!
