Pinata Fun!
Yesterday was had a pinata at the toddler house. Occasionally, visitors will bring a pinata when they come down here, and so the children know exactly what it's all about, and they get SO excited when we start putting it up. Each child gets a turn, no matter their size. The youngest ones (the 2 and 3 year olds) use a stick, and are not blindfolded. Then the older ones get to use a bat, and are blindfolded. As well, the pinata is moving for the older ones. We can adjust how much it moves, so this helps in making sure everyone gets a turn. Yesterday, even the nannies got a turn, and this was definitely a first for them! They had so much fun too! When it came to the last person, she actually ended up knocking it down rather than busting it, so Molly and Joyce quickly jumped in, tore open the pinata, and started throwing the candy and the toys. Wow, the children were SO excited! I always have to laugh at some of the older ones - they will use their shirts to carry as much stuff as possible. Unfortunately for them, they have to share with the younger children though. However, they don't complain about it at all. They really are very good about the whole sharing thing. The morning was fun for everyone - children, nannies, and spectators!
